My Perspective Of Graphic Design
Graphic design is a way to express your ideas and thoughts into a piece of art that can have more than one meaning behind it. What graphic design does for an artist is to be able to grab anyone’s attention with your piece of artwork and for them to look at with an open mind and hopefully the message that is trying to be shown is visible to the viewer. Graphic design is how you communicate ideas, messages using just images, or just type or both. Its the creative process you use to make a statement, sell something, try and persuade some to buy your product, or just to get their attention (like a billboard with a picture of a beautiful woman sipping a glass of wine) what makes you STOP and look at something longer than a second. Graphic design helps connect people to things…like creating a logo…it is a bridge between the company and the person they want to sell to. When you see the golden arches that are the shape of an M you know it McDonalds because a designer created the icon.

My Perspective of Graphic Design:
Graphic Design is everywhere. It is important for someone who is trying to reach out to others in order to inform, teach or gain. Whether it be a poster to promote a local band and their upcoming show or a billboard trying to tell drivers that alcohol and driving don’t mix; graphic design needs to be eye-catching and interesting in order to get it’s audience to see even think to take a closer look. Without an interesting design that pulls the nearest eye toward it, certain words, images or announcement are missed or neglected.

My take on what Graphic Design is

Graphic design is many things, art and business, fun and hard work, subtle and bold, simple and complex. its hard to really put into words what graphic design truly is, sure there are many dictionary definitions on what it is, but they don’t do the craft any justice. Designing is something that takes an eye for what looks good and what the audience wants to see, to be able to take an illustrators work or even a designers own art mix it with some well placed typography, play with the colors and layout and hope to have a well designed logo, book cover, poster, website, etc. Graphic design is many things complicated or not but more often than not many don’t notice the work that goes into what they see everyday, design is everywhere.
