Advertising Design:
The world of advertising has always amused me from just little articles in papers to commercials that cost thousands of dollars. I had no idea however, the amount of design that goes into some of these advertisements put out by companies. I’m studying business and plan to be an entrepreneur so this could also play a part in helping me in that field. I find it very interesting how some people have the creativity to make an advertisement that can appeal to such a wide range of people just off some pictures or words. Advertising is such an important part of the business because without it we would have trouble getting our products into the public.
One major reason why I feel this field could fit me is that I feel I could create something that could appeal to a specific group well. For example, I know that kids love cereal so if I were making a commercial or ad for a cereal brand then I would make it appealing for kids because that is the target audience. Advertising design also takes a lot of communication skills because they need to work with a lot of people. For an ad to go smooth it takes a lot of teamwork and people working together to complete a project.
Environmental Design:
I always was fascinated by what we see as humans in our world and how we can create what we want to see in our landscapes. I find it cool how we can create things with just the use of our hands and build amazing creations that we can see every day. A lot of people don’t understand how hard it is to change a landscape and recreate it for a better purpose or decoration. It can be hard work but the outcome of looking at something you built always is a good feeling.
Over the summer I world as a concrete finisher so I somewhat had an idea of environmental design by changing what was once a dirt backyard into a beautiful pool deck. I wouldn’t mind getting into this field because I like to create things and I like to change landscape because its hard work that takes a lot of concentration. I like the feeling of building something that you started from scratch and looking back at it feeling proud of your work.
