I really like the reading. The reason why I liked the reading so much is because I love colors. I think that graphic design is going to be more fun as soon as we start playing with colors. I think that each color has its meaning. For example, in class we talked about how the color blue represents happiness and how red represents anger/sadness. In the reading they mentioned that colors carry different connotations in different societies and I totally agree with the reading.
I think that back in time, people didn’t use colors in graphic design, but now as the reading said, “color has been integral to the design process”. If I had to choose between a colorful design or a black and white design, I would definitely choose a colorful design because it’s more fun and interesting to look at something colorful. I think the mix of colors is more difficult to understand than I thought, but I really like the idea of mixing colors to get a new color. I always thought we only had some amount of colors, but after the reading I realize how many colors we are able to have by just mixing them up. I can’t wait to see how my translations are going to look after I add color to them.
