A picture’s frame is yet another aspect of design I hadn’t considered, but after the reading it makes sense that it would influence the way the a picture is seen. For instance, a physical frame tends to match the tone of the image, whether it be a fond memory or an elegant portrait. Different kinds of frames give off different tones. Another frame, which ties into a personal experience of mine, is the white margin. Whenever I see the white margin being used, my brain always sees it as a snapshot in time. The reason for this is because I used to know someone, who was very close to me, who had a polaroid camera. They would take a lot of pictures with it, and those cameras come out with a white margin. I would see those pictures a lot. I have one in my room. Additionally, text associated with a picture can completely change the picture’s meaning. The text tells us what we are supposed to make of the image, like if t should be interpreted positively, negatively, etc.
