{"id":11039,"date":"2020-10-14T18:23:24","date_gmt":"2020-10-14T22:23:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kscgd.com\/2020fall\/gdp1\/?page_id=11039"},"modified":"2020-10-19T17:50:46","modified_gmt":"2020-10-19T21:50:46","slug":"07-color-translations-part-3","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/kscgd.com\/2020fall\/gdp1\/07-color-translations-part-3\/","title":{"rendered":"07 Color Translations Part 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Color Bitmap Translations<\/h1>\n<h1>11<\/h1>\n<p><strong>Make a total of 12 more color translations \u2014 (using your #1 original photograph translation) \u2014<\/strong><strong>\u00a0after making it a bitmap in photoshop, then organize in your illustrator final color translations file and export these as\u00a0one PDF.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open\u00a0your .psd scan\u00a0of original photograph #1 in photoshop<\/li>\n<li>Convert this file into a\u00a0bitmap image\u00a0by choosing Image\u2013Mode\u2014Bitmap.\u00a0If Bitmap is not available to select, then choose Greyscale first, then Bitmap.<\/li>\n<li>Keep dpi at 300 and &#8220;save as&#8221; the original photo file with the following four example of bitmaps: 50% Threshold, Halftone Screen\u2014Round, Halftone Screen\u2014Line, Diffusion Dither. You can change the options for the Halftone screens only.<\/li>\n<li>This will give you a vector image that you can colorize now once placed in Illustrator.<\/li>\n<li>Place these into your final color translation file in Illustrator and do 12 more color translations using these 4 new bitmaps.<\/li>\n<li>Use each of the 4 types of bitmaps three times. Four rows of three.
