Didot is my favorite typeface of the five because of its clean,\u00a0 sleek, modern look. I chose to compare it to Century because they’re very similar, but they’re very different in some ways as well. Century seems a little more “blocky” in a way. It’s thick compared to Didot, and when I look at the two typefaces together, for me, I’m immediately able to put a feeling to go with it. Looking at Century, it gives off a strict, maybe stressed, timid sort of feeling. Didot is thinner and gives me more of a calm sense, relaxed, and flexible or soft feeling. They’re similar in the way they look, with the serifs and the shapes of many of the letters, but they’re different because, as I mentioned previously, Century is thicker and blockier. Century’s serifs are thick, where Didot’s serifs are very thin and the letters are thin as well. They thin out even more around corners and ends of the letters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
The two typefaces I chose to compare are Century and Didot.
