This is most prominently displayed with red being the color of choice to be worn by brides in Japan or with white being the preference in more western parts of the world as it represents purity. Color can, in some ways, tell a story as well as any words by adding new elements and creating a formal union to the different pieces to create an overarching storyline in a concise but beautiful way. Color has a unique ability to take on specific functions within a design project, with yellows expanding outward and reaching off of a 2-D landscape toward us and blues drawing us into the world within the page itself. These both make me think of how color changes the entire emotional feel of a piece or forces us to take a look within ourselves and think deeper about it. Art in all forms has a distinct ability to impact us and presents itself in this way. My most common use of color before this class was solely in color-coding my notes to organize my thoughts in a way that makes sense to me but through this new learning I have come to understand that color can go so much beyond that. I have gained a sense of openness about color and have gained an appreciation for the colors in the world around me. The fact that our brains interpret the influence of colors subconsciously without us even having to spare a thought about it is honestly so convenient but that also makes it all the more easy for us to take for granted and miss the colorful beauty in our own little worlds.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Response to Color Learning about how each separate color can have a varying meanings in different countries has really been not only interesting but eyeopening.
