As psychology major its particularly interesting to me how color influences emotion in people an its possible applications to therapy and counseling. I wonder if mental hospitals, or regular hospitals for that matter use colors to influence the emotion of patients that are admitted to the institutions. I think that practical applications of the colors wheel could be very useful in calming and soothing those who need to feel that way in times of stress. What is even more interesting is that our brains interpret the influence of colors subconsciously without us even having to spare a thought process. I know that this is being done in places such as restaurants where red and brown and oranges mixed together can make someone more prone to hunger but medically/therapeutically I thoroughly believe the color wheel can be used to great effect. I also wanted to comment on shading, and how different shades of colors can even further describe a particular feeling or image. For example, the color blue is often used in portraying freedom through images of the ocean and sky. But if you change the shade to something darker it can describe the night and, in my case, gives me a feeling of comfort and safety. I am really excited to explore the endless possibilities of color!

My thoughts on the color readings: I thought these readings were very intriguing to read and I believe I learned a lot on how colors work for the design and with each other.
