Framing has one main purpose. To draw attention. They are used to quite literally create an outline to where your eyes should focus. It shapes our understanding of the content at hand. When I was in high school, I used to be really interested in photography. We learned a lot about the importance of placement within our picture. The camera lens is acting as a frame and our job was to put the main components within that frame. I believe that in conversation, we use framing a lot more than we are aware. If you think about it, we only say what we want other people to hear. We are explaining things in ways that will make people interpret the things we say, the way we want.<\/p>\n
I have personally never gone “house shopping” or attended an open house but, from what I have seen in shows based around that, windows are a factor in these decisions. The literal framing of the windows on the outside of the house have to match the aesthetic of the siding and the surroundings. On the inside of the house, you pay attention to what it highlights on the outside. Does it allow enough light to come through? Is the view pleasing to the eye? You don’t want to have a window in the main part of your house that looks out on the trash or in an apartment building, you don’t want the view to be of an alley.
