Introduction<\/h2>\n

Design is always rapidly evolving, which is why the styles have changed so drastically throughout history. I really enjoyed looking back at the older eras of design, it is fascinating how much has changed since then. Design is ever-changing, I can not wait to look back on the design from the current era in the future. It will be interesting to see how much will change over time.<\/p>\n

Psychedelic Language<\/a> (1960s)<\/h2>\n

I love this era of design, I think it so unique and creative. In the 1960s, people believed psychedelic<\/a> drugs like LCD or acid<\/a> increased creativity and expanded one’s mind. It is so interesting to me that this style of design was produced by artists on hallucinogens. This era of design is just so different from the others and I think that is why I love it so much. The bright colors, curvy lines, and uniqueness caught my eye. I love how fun this era of design was, so carefree and fun. I feel like this era did not have any rules, it was all about creativity and being unique.<\/p>\n

Cubism<\/a> (1907-1921)<\/h2>\n

Cubism was one of the most influential art<\/a> movements of the twentieth century. Picassos<\/a> famous painting, Les Demoiselles d’Avignon, included figures broken up into semi-abstracted forms. I really like this era of design, it is so abstract and unique. This style of design is just so interesting to look at, it is almost like an optical illusion. I love how it is broken up but you can still tell what it is supposed to be. Picassos art was so abstract and always catches my eye. This is definitely one of my favorite eras in design.<\/p>\n

Modernism in America<\/a> (1925-1960’s)<\/h2>\n

This era of design is one of my favorites because of how sleek it is. These sleek lines and geometry<\/a> were the new replacement for the previous floral patterns from Art Nouveau. I love how simple and realistic it is compared to the other designs. This design was all over magazines in this time frame. The vogue cover in the chapter was absolutely stunning and my favorite picture within the reading. I love the simple black background so the image of her really pops out. I found another picture of a Vogue cover from the same artist, and it is just as beautiful. The other 2 images are from an artist named Edward Hooper<\/a> from Washington D.C. They are so sleek and geometrical. This era of design was definitely a good one.<\/p>\n

Art Nouveau<\/a> (1890-1910)<\/h2>\n

I think the era of design is beautiful. The usage of flowers<\/a>, vines, and birds to translate into high contrast shapes and patterns is genius. This is such a creative way to spice up an ordinary picture. This art movement was so popula<\/a>r, everything painted, manufactured, or designed was affected. I love the usage of nature, it makes these paintings so elegant. It is fascinating to see how much style has changed since 1910.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/h2>\n

I really enjoyed going through all the eras of design and seeing how unique each movement is from one another. My favorite has to be Psychedelic Langauge because if just how unique is. I love how it almost has no boundaries, the only rule is to be as creative you can be. I also really like Modernism in America. That vogue cover is so simple yet stunning. I love how realistic it is compared to all the other eras of design. Art and design are ever-changing, it will continue to change forever and ever. It is going to be so interesting to look back at the current era in the future and see how much has changed. I can not wait to see what the future eras of design have in store.<\/p>\n
