6 Design Principles:
Balance:

This represents balance because both sides are equal and have the same amount of posters. I really like balance because it provides visual equality and I think that is very important. It is calming and is a good representation of both sides of something.
Variety:

This represents variety because it shows different shapes and colors of items. They are not all equal and they display different visuals. I think variety is important because it shows that everything doesn’t always have to be the same and shows an assortment of different things.
Contrast:

This represents contrast because an item clearly has a different composition than the others. I think contrast is important because it is helpful for something to stick out and grab your attention.
Repetition:

This represents repetition because everything in the picture is the exact same and repeated throughout the space. Repetition is important because it unites everything in that space. It helps compose the space and simplify it.
Emphasis:

This represents emphasis because it is showing importance to one part of the space. I think emphasis is important because is draws your attention and catches your eye. It adds a focus point to the space.
Scale:

This represents scale because it shows a relationship between the objects pictured. Scale is important because it uses reference of size and associates items with each other to bring the space together.
Gestalt Theory:
I learned that the Gestalt Theory uses psychology and how our mind perceives our surroundings. It explains that our minds perceive things in whole forms not individual elements. Additionally it uses the idea that our behavior is influenced by using rewards. We organize all the visual signals that we receive all day everyday. And we turn our visual surroundings into groups. I find Gestalt Theory very interesting because it goes deeper into our brains for a more complex meaning. This affects my opinion in a good way because it is making me think more about how I make decisions and perceive things.
