Design Principles

1- White Space- There is a lot of extra white space in this image and that’s why I decided to do this; its very blank. It really shows how little I have hung up in my living-room wall. Time to get some posters to make it look a little nicer in here

2- The reason I chose this picture was the high diversity within the cups. Although they are very similar ad used for the same thing they are also extremely diverse in style, shape and color!

3- I was trying to find something in or outside my house to help me represent proportion/scale. I couldn’t find anything so I decide to play some PS4 and as I look down I see all of my controllers to my different consoles. It demonstrated scale very well to me, the Nintendo controller is very small and harder to use than the ps4 controller.

4- These are magnets that I have collected from all different countries in Europe! I didn’t even realize my OCD had set them up like this until I was around the house looking for some order. The shape the magnets make on the fridge has a great rhythm.

5- Hierarchy was a harder thing for me to describe than the others. This book and my text book were the only things that I could manage to find. I chose this book because it is set up very easy to read and understand, left to right. A book perfectly conveys its points across to the reader or readers.

6- We have three different things of silverware in my apartment. All have a perfect spot for everything and a level of consistency is maintained after we use silverware and go to put them back again!

Gestalt Theory:

I learned that the Gestalt theory shows us how the surroundings around us are always subject to change how we perceive our surroundings. The theory helps explain how our brain can perceive things as a group rather than a single composition. It shows how even our behavior is influenced simply by using conditioning. Rewards always bring good behavior.
