Color

Hue, Value, Saturation

I think color is very interesting. The way you can change and manipulate color to create the best representation of your idea is one of the most amazing things about having something in color.  Mark Rothko said “The colors he used were performers.” Their job was to bring his image to fruition. Changing the hue, value, saturation, and color components can change the entire image as a whole. Bright colors say something completely different them dull colors. Depending on your goal, these elements are adjusted. For an organic look, desaturated hues are used and the message is given without needing to actually be said.  Colors near each other on the color wheel can be used to create a sense of harmony. Bright and bubble oranges and deep purple are different enough to give the image of depth while still alleviating any color tension.

Gas Identities

The color spectrum is very important and it is interesting to see how many ways it is used. Color spectrums are used to distinguish between illuminated gases. Different gases-neon, hydrogen, helium etc.- when lit up with electricity will absorb and reflect different wavelengths. This unique absorption pattern is used to identify the elements.

Color Options

Looking back a graphic design, each color pattern is unique and used for a specific purpose. It is interesting thought that depending on your platform there are different color availabilities. If the design is purely digital, then there are more color options because a computer can display a much greater variety of color then printed media.
