Grids/Framing

In my perspective, I see frame as perfection. When it comes to art, I like to be a perfectionist. I am never satisfied with my artwork assignments until I spent enough time working on it and that I’ve followed the directions for it. I agree with the article that cropping, borders, margins, and captions are the main key resources of graphic design. In the Graphic Design Process course, I spent a few hours each day on my past few assignments on Transitions and Two-Color Transitions.  I made sure to create fine detail when I used my Pen Tool and Curvature Tool to make certain shapes. If I don’t think I did too well or that after I complete my artwork, I would go back and tweak it.

Language can ‘frame’ things when the text is subordinate or dominant to a picture. For example, the “Empty” in “From Caption to Headlines image can grab the viewers attention. How? The texts is at a large scale and the sky seems to take up the a ton of space. The social reality of the photo is that the sky is the ’empty’ space so the texts will appear large to other people seeing the image. When thinking about windows and doors and if they could be fit both in metaphoric and the literal objects, one can think about it as the window being something to look at and through (metaphoric), while one can walk through the door when opened (literal).
