This reading was pretty insightful on the different techniques artists use to frame their work, contrary to a typical picture frame. It’s amazing the infinite amount of possibilities, whether adding grids to line up a book cover, or creating a frame inside the artwork itself. With our color translations for example, the contrasting background lets the image stand out while being contained in a 6×6 box, somewhat frame-like. Also the text we use to describe if its compound, dither etc. gives more of a description than a stand alone image. This gives the viewer an outline, or an idea of what they’re looking at.\u00a0The different type of framing you choose for your work will most likely change the outlook of your final piece, in the sense that it has a great impact on your piece. An image framed through an armchair would be subtle, and clever directing your eye towards the focal point. It feels welcoming in a strange way, and also makes it feel like there’s more to the picture, or there’s something going on behind the scenes.
