Introduction
I am interested in graphic design because I always am drawn to marketing tactics in multiple different places. I like looking at billboards and seeing all the colors and thinking about how they went about creating the piece. I also like looking at posters that are ads for smaller businesses and seeing all the time and effort it took for the poster to be put together. I want to use these skills that I acquire in this class with multiple different things. In my Nursing career in the future I want to do research and when I present this research it will be helpful to have a back round in graphic design because I can make it appealing to the eye.
Publication Design
The first type of graphic design that interested me was publication design. Publication design interests me because it has to do with everyday things that people read and that are right in front of their eyes and they might not even notice it. I feel like the best ad in a magazine or in the newspaper is one that just looks like art and it just doesn’t have buy, buy, buy all over it. When the ad is more colorful and can draw someone to it easily, then the person will be more likely remember the product. Take a look at the top 10 graphic design magazines from around the world! Package Design
The second type of graphic design that interested me was package design. Package design interests me because personally I love getting packages in the mail or getting something at the store because they are so much fun to open, When the packaging looks nice and is cool to look at or to touch it makes me so much more excited to see the product. This is because if they put that much time into the packaging the product itself should be just as cool. Personally when I buy makeup and it comes in smaller boxes it makes me want to buy more.
