Introduction
I am interested in graphic design because it is interesting of how all kinds of media is created and the steps that it takes to get certain types of designs. I am taking this class not to be a designer but I am just wanting to learn more skills of how to make the media interesting and to persuade people for advertisements because my major is in business. I think it would be nice to have this in the back of my mind to think back on for my career.
Environmental Design is when people are creating a three dimensional experience for the visitor of the exhibit, museum, convention, etc. When doing this type of design the designer needs to know about audio and visual, media is. this design interests me because this media is all around us without even knowing. It could be used for advertisement, education purposes like the science museum. This also interests me because we have all been to places with environmental design since we were young and we all have a vivid memory of going to the science museum to see a cool advertisement sign that wants you to buy something right away. As you can see there are multiple ways of seeing environmental design many people have written about the ways of how environmental design is all around us.
Type design is when a designer creates new letter forms and and fonts. The designers need to make it extremely detailed to make it look unified within the face type. It is also important to make a background of the face type to make sure you are understanding the theoretical issues at hand. This interests me because it has always caught my eye of how all the words, fonts and ideas that come from a design that looks so simple but is so complicated. Whenever I see an advertisement with cool fonts and lettering it always catches my eye and I want to read what it says to figure out what they are trying to make a message come out to be with certain words and fonts. I also think a lot of people do not always realize that they have seen type design because it is all around us and even influencing us without the person knowing it.
