08 Framing/Grids

I like how with framing (or cropping something down to fit into a frame) you’re really able to direct the audience’s focus on to one certain thing.  I find it to be really cool how by cropping, there’s the opportunity to completely change what the object looks like.  When sitting in the car, my sister can’t look out the side windows because everything moves too fast and makes her sick, so she has to face forward and focus on the road ahead where objects just appear to slowly get closer. Framing through language can change how one may view their answer.  If I were to say “It’s sunny out today, right?” someone is more likely to say yes compared to “what’s the weather going to be today?”.  You’re basically lining them up for their answer. Windows and doors literally create a border for you to view outside.  Figuratively they grasp your attention saying “hey look at me.”
