Design Principles

Intro

6 principles I chose after reading the article was repetition, rhythm, movement, balance, proportion/scale, and white space.

Repetition

Repetition is when a component is repeated when other components with features similar to the design.

Rhythm

Rhythm occurs when an object has varying distances between several frequencies.

Movement

Movement means guiding there users eye to a predetermined path in a composition.

Balance

Balance is when any composition occurs when all objects in it have visual equilibrium.

Proportion/Scale

Proportion/scale is the relationship between objects with reference to their size and visual weight.

White Space

White space is the empty space in any design, it also is known as the negative space.

Gestalt theory

The word gestalt is German and it means pattern, figure, form or structure that is unified Gestalt took off in Berlin during the 1920’s to try to make sense of how our minds perceive things in whole forms rather than their individual element. I like this because it makes you think more so outside of the box and trying to force your self to look at the bigger picture.
