I learned a couple of things that I did not know before about graphic design throughout reading this article. I learned that outlines are crucial; in all the examples shown throughout the article, each design had squares as a rough blueprint, like the chickens or the human’s proportions were measured out with a blueprint of squares rectangles. I also learned that the most simple-looking shapes or objects could create something more complex and creative if I agree with the author on his teaching perspective. I viewed the article as if the teacher and the student needed to work hand and hand, the teacher must be able to communicate and teach the student in a way that works for them. I personally, as a student, enjoy hands-on activities because it keeps me intrigued by what we are currently learning or working on, and I think it makes the class more enjoyable as a whole. As opposed to a class, you sit down in and listen to a lecture or a professor speak throughout the class. If the student is struggling and the teacher recognizes that, then either the student needs to speak up or the teacher and student need to work together to find a better learning situation for the student. Overall I enjoyed reading what the author had to write about on graphic design and also teaching.
