Classic Typeface Anatomy

Didot and Helvetica are two of the five classic type faces I will compare. First of all both of these type faces are eye catching to me because of how straight up they are, I feel it makes everything “to the point” and I like that. It is like the type face is being blunt, though I feel Helveitca does a better job of “being blunt”. I feel this way because it has no running lines and nothing fancy about it. Helvetica feels like it is the true version of the alphabet in my opinion, nothing extra. Where as I feel Didot is to the point, level, and just a little more cute In my eyes. I enjoy the added lines, I often do that when trying to draw out my own type of font, so I would have to say it is just more of my style. Both of these type faces do a good job at being very simple, I think that is nice as it makes things easier to just read!
