The thing that I was most intrigued by was that, first of all, the amount of colors is essentially limitless. There are so many ways to combine colors and so many ways different colors can combine depending on the shade of the color. Also, it is truly so amazing the effect colors can have. They can create moods and emotions just by existing. Like the article by Ellen Lupton says, “Color can convey a mood, describe reality, or codify information”. I feel like this sat with me a lot because originally to me, colors just seemed like they were there to make things look pretty. In reality, they such a great purpose, that I feel like a lot of people don’t realize and take for granted. I feel like I tend to stay away from super bold colors because they tend to be super out there and almost “demand attention” from others. But after reading these articles, it has made me realize that I shouldn’t limit myself to certain colors. Every color says something different, and with this being said, there are so many ways to convey something through color. Whether thats with different shades, tones, combinations, tints, saturations or intensities.
