My personal response towards this movie is that I found it interesting that a font like helvetica can be everywhere. It is all over the world influencing all kinds of different cultures and people. I also find it interesting that some actually created this font. I have n<\/span>ever actually thought about how fonts came to be and how they were made until after watching this video.<\/p>\n

(Massimo Vignelli) <\/span><\/i>“You can say, “I love you,” in Helvetica. And you can say it with Helvetica Extra Light if you want to be really fancy. Or you can say it with the Extra Bold if it’s really intensive and passionate, you know, and it might work.\u201d This quote interested me because of how he described the ways of illustrating what Helvetica can do for a certain skill. It can change the emotion and tone of what you are trying to say so easily.<\/span><\/p>\n

(Lars M\u00fcller) <\/span><\/i>“And I think I’m right calling Helvetica the perfume of the city. It is just something we don’t notice usually but we would miss very much if it wouldn’t be there.” I find this very true and the best way to describe this font. It is everywhere and you even know it just like the smells you always used to smelling. And if no one said anything about the smell or the font no one would ever notice that it has such a big influence on people.<\/span><\/p>\n

(Erik Spiekermann) <\/span><\/i>“It’s air, you know. It’s just there. There’s no choice. You have to breathe, so you have to use Helvetica.”even if you don’t know the font is around it is always there and always will be once it was invented. Just like air you need it even if you don’t think about it 24\/7 it’s still a necessity. And with this font even if you don’t think about it you always see it and use it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
