Code Truck

  1. Team members: Lonny & Ty
  2. Company name: Undecided (something to do with computers/coding)
  3. What you’re selling: Gourmet “nerd food”, i.e. slightly upscaled versions of traditional American junk food
    1. Burgers, pizza, fries, etc.
    2. A homemade version of a classic name-brand snack, e.g. Cheetos or Doritos (will have to research which snack foods were most popular during the time)
    3. Soda fountain? W/ food truck-branded versions of famous soft drinks
  4. Your unique trait / factor – what would make this business unique? The truck itself will be decorated in real HTML code, and all of the items on the menu will be related to computer science in some way. Celebrating the early days of the World Wide Web, the truck will have a retro early-internet flair, which will be reflected in the choice of typeface, color scheme, and model of truck.
  5. Restrictions:
    1. Decade-inspired: 90s
    2. Name-driven design: No illustrations/images, only code (and maybe some retro wordart-esque type for the logo)
  6. Design team questions: Ideally, such a food truck would appeal to older folks (by way of nostalgia) but also younger ones, as the aesthetics of the 90s have seen a major comeback in recent years. The lack of images or illustrations doesn’t feel particularly restrictive as our vision does not rely on imagery, but rather text which can act illustratively or as a pattern/texture/etc.
