Movie: Pitch Perfect (2012)
Overall Reaction
Pitch Perfect was funny, fast, and full of personality. The mix of music and humor kept it from feeling like a normal college movie. I liked how every character added something to the story, even the weird or quiet ones. The film’s about finding where you fit in, even if you’re not trying to.
Character 1: Kimmy Jin (Roommate)
Quote: “The white girl is back.”
Who: Beca’s cold, no-nonsense roommate.
What she does: Barely talks but shows how closed-off Beca is.
Cares about: Her space, her peace, and not dealing with people’s drama.
Motivation: Just wants to do her thing and be left alone.
Adds to story: Makes Beca realize she needs to connect with others.
Outside of the movie: Studying, K-pop music, Scrolling phone with headphones on. Small friend group. Potential major in buisness or pre-med
Character 2: Lilly Onakuramara
Quote: “I set fires to feel joy.”
Who: The super quiet, super weird Bella.
What she does: Adds random chaos and humor to scenes.
Cares about: Being part of the group in her own way.
Motivation: Probably enjoys being mysterious.
Adds to story: Makes the Bellas less serious and more fun.
Outside of movie: performance art, horror podcasts, some sort of weird collection. Creepy whisper video secret tiktok?
Character 3: Benji Applebaum
Quote: “I can’t help it, I’m a sucker for magic.”
Who: Jesse’s dorky but talented roommate.
What he does: Brings heart and positivity to the Treblemakers.
Cares about: Performing and fitting in.
Motivation: Wants people to see his talent.
Adds to story: Shows passion matters more than being cool.
Outside of movie: Youtube channel doing card tricks, movie reveiws and acapella mashups. Would also hold kahoot sessions with his followers with random movie trivia.
