02 Lupton Grid

A piece of work that resonated with me in the reading was the nine boxes that were split into 3×3 grids. They popped out to me because they are good, simple examples of formats that can be used for so many applications.

Another work that resonated with me was “The Universal Declaration of Human Rights”, because it shows how the basis for content is majorly impacted by the grid, and the eye-catchingness can be vastly altered while keeping the same structure.

I discovered that grids can be circular, angled, or offset, and they create a structure so you don’t have to make arbitrary judgments.

This reading has given me a good amount of information that I can apply to posters. One thing I want to try out is using an angled grid, since I haven’t had that idea yet. Another technique I want to employ is making a grid structure and duplicating it, then making various designs off of it.
