The collection of works by The Universal Declaration of Human Rights stood out to me the most from the reading. It opened my eyes to how a simple grid can be energized by shape and color. My personal favorite is the black and blue one. It has a lot of motion, drawing the eye from one piece of text to the next in a smooth way. Something about grids that I didn’t know was that the disorder of automated grids created from Pinterest and other websites inspired designers to use it as a grid for print. One aspect I could add to my designs from this reading is organizing my designs with blocked out portions where I want text to go. Another is pushing myself to make irregular grids.
