Countries:
United States
The United States is located in North America between Canada to the north and Mexico to the south. The United States was originally 13 colonies of British descent. After the Treaty of Paris in 1783, the United States became recognized as an official nation. Over the course of the United States’ expansion, it grew to include 50 states and several overseas possessions.
Bulgaria
Bulgaria is located in Southeastern Europe, on the eastern part of the Balkan Peninsula. The Bulgars, a Central Asian Turkic tribe, merged with the local Slavic inhabitants in the late 7th century to form the first Bulgarian state. Bulgaria became independent from the Ottoman Empire in 1908, becoming its own country.
Switzerland
Switzerland is located in central Europe. The Swiss Confederation was founded in 1291 and gained independence from the Roman Empire in 1848, making it an independent nation. In 1873, the constitution was altered to allow voters to introduce referenda on proposed laws, replacing the Confederation with a centralized federal government.
Data Spreadsheet:
The data I found tells a story about unemployment. Though the total populations and workforces of the 3 countries vary greatly, I noticed they all have the same unemployment rate. I found this interesting because it seems that having a larger labor force doesn’t always mean you have less unemployment.
