3×3

Countries: USA, BRAZIL, AUSTRALIA

USA: The United States is the third-largest country by both population and geographical size. It has a population of over 340,000 people spanning 50 states and 3.8 million square miles. Economically, the United States has the world’s largest national economy and is a global leader in technology, finance, and industry.

BRAZIL: Brazil is the largest country in both South America and Latin America, and the fifth-largest country in the world. Brazil’s geography is dominated by the Amazon Rainforest, which covers most of the country and is the largest tropical rainforest in the world. It borders every South American country except for Chile and Ecuador.

AUSTRALIA: Australia is a sovereign country comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, Tasmania, and other smaller islands. It’s the largest country in Oceania and the sixth-largest country in the world. Australia is a federal parliamentary constitutional monarchy. Its capital city is Canberra, though most people think it is Sydney or Melbourne (I thought it was Sydney!) It has a population of over 26 million people.

My goal when finding data was to take the three countries with the highest amount of airports and compare them with population and CO2 emissions. As assumed, the more airports is linked with a country having higher CO2 emissions and population. Perhaps a higher population is why there are more airports, but I guess we will never know! I wasn’t surprised that the USA had such a high amount of airports, but I was surprised that Brazil, the country with the second most airports in the world, has less than 1/3 of the airports the USA has. Brazil and Australia were not countries I’d expect to be so high on the airport list, specifically Australia.
