Andorra

Andorra is in southwestern Europe, Pyrenees mountains, on the border between France and Spain. For 715 years (1278-1993), Andorra was ruled by two leaders, one from France and one from Spain. In 1993 the two princes stayed head of state but Andorra became a parilentary democracy. Andorra has also become a wealthy international commercial center because of its mature banking sector and low taxes.

In Northern Europe, bordering the Baltic Sea, Gulf of Bothnia, and Gulf of Finland, between Sweden and Russia. In the 21st century, the key features of Finland’s modern welfare state are high-quality education, promotion of equality, and a national social welfare system, although the system is currently facing the challenges of an aging population and the fluctuations of an export-driven economy.

3×3 Data Story

The story I hope to show in this data is how countries of different sizes and wealth have a grasp on electirifying their populations. I find this interesting because of how just because a country is small or it seems like they have much less in comparison to the united states, it can still be just as competent with their reces, if not better. Finland for instance is much farther along then the United States is as they have recently shut down their last coal mine in April this year and as of 2019 had banned coal mining entirly to move forward with technology and cut energy costs. Andorra is embracing renewable energy, cutting its reliance on imports and decreasing energy poverty. Using solar, hydropower and biomass, the nation is balancing sustainable growth, lowering costs and improving access. All this while the country with the most land mass and highest GDP dives further into the deep end of fossil fuels as well as killing its own grid with increasing AI energy demands.
