Data Story
The story I was interested in was how flags use the color red to symbolize things in their flag compared to their climate and total land. I choose 3 countries with imperial history to see if that would play into the results. The USA uses red to symbolize courage, zeal, and fervency. It makes no reference to the climate or nature. Mongolia’s red symbolizes progress and prosperity. Other elements on the flag represent fire, the sky, and other natural elements, but the color itself is used more abstractly. On Japan’s flag, the red circle represents the rising sun, while the white background represents peace and honesty.
