Opening spread – The opening spread might include a photo of a record store or collection (potentially Amoeba Records) with the title and subtitle to draw the audience in.
Main article – The main article will focus on the history of the three main forms of physical music and the processes of how they are made. This is something that I want to learn about myself, so the magazine will feature a lot of this information.
Smaller articles – Smaller articles will focus mainly on topics such as Record Store day and the culture surrounding record stores and people who collect physical media.
Single-spread layouts – Some single-spread layouts could include the parts of a cassette tape or record player and a deep dive into a specific genre or artist in terms of their sales on physical media.
Side bars – Side bars will include pull quotes and/or snippets from interviews, fun facts about certain albums or years throughout music history, and information that ties the magazine back into my infographic about my personal collection.
Smaller elements – I particularly enjoyed seeing a lot of real photos in the magazines we looked at in class, so I would like to include some real imagery related to the content of my magazine. It would also be interesting to incorporate some of the illustrated icons from my infographic throughout. I also plan on laying heavily into the circle motif of vinyl records and CDs.
