What stood out most to me was how little I’d ever considered receipts before. To me, they are annoying bits of paper that clutter my car and purse. The most use they got from me was as kindling. After reading the articles, I see them more as annoying bits of record keeping and evidence that clutter my car. Although they don’t mean much to me, the record of my purchases could (hypothetically) be used by historians to see how people lived in our era.

I almost always throw receipts out or loose them, but my little sister used to really like the texture of them so I would save some for her.
