Plot Synopsis: Michael Myers returns in this sixth movie in the Halloween series. Throughout these movies, he has somehow seemed to stay indestructible. In this film, the masked serial killer is controlled by the “Cult of Thorn” cult to kill his bloodline that remains after the past few movies. This includes his niece, Jamie Lloyd, as well as her infant son. Micael’s doctor, Dr. Loomis, must work to protect these people from their horrible fate.
Reason for selection: I chose this film for a few reasons. First of all, the title dropping into the title sequence is very sped up and feels kind of choppy. It also really bothers me how sped up the opening scene seems when they cut into it after the credits. I also didn’t like how plain the names and title felt. I also picked this opening title sequence, as the whole thing kind of seems all over the place and horribly put together. The music also felt weirdly placed and didn’t feel very suspenseful.
Why your services are needed: I feel as if my services are definitely needed on this opening title sequence. This is because the names displayed on the screen, as well as the title feel very bland and lack character. I feel as if the typeface used doesn’t really give off the fact that it’s the opening typeface for a horror movie. I also don’t like the fact that the creators just decided to make the letters in the title sequence orange and call it a day while ignoring every other important aspect of the opening title sequence. I also believe this title sequence needs my services, as the opening scene feels choppy, and the music does not sound as if it is being used for the opening of a horror movie very much. I also believe that the title doesn’t stand out from the names enough, as it is only a few point sizes larger and the exact same color. I feel as if the title, as well as the “horror” music needs to be more emphasized, as it is a horror movie, but the opening title sequence doesn’t really communicate that well.
Plot Synopsis: This film is a comedy that follows a woman who gets her car towed and is unable to afford to get it back. She ends up getting hired by a wealthy family to help their son who has never talked to a girl “get out of his shell.” She agrees to do so in exchange for a brand new car from his parents. This film follows their fake relationship as she eventually begins to actually fall in love with their son.
Reason for selection: I chose this film for a few reasons. First of all, I feel as if the only thing genuinely visually appealing about the opening title sequence is the hook that sweeps across the first set of words displayed. After that, I feel as if there isn’t really much else exciting happening, as the creators could have chosen to choose more fun scenes or images from the film, but simply chose not to.
Why your services are needed: My services are needed with this title sequence. This is because I feel as if the hook in the beginning could have had a much better interaction with the first set of words displayed. I think it would be fun to see the hook physically knock down the words, rather than them just disappearing before the hook even touches them. I also believe that this opening title sequence would have benefitted from some better imagery from the film. I feel as if the hook making contact with the letters needs to be more emphasized, as well as more imagery showcasing the lot of the film, rather than just the scene where she looses her car. I also feel as if the current title seems kind of plain and can easily be missed at the end of the opening title sequence.
Opening Sequence: There actually is no official title sequence, which is why I want to make one.
Plot Synopsis: After moving to Boston, Lilly Bloom is quick to fall in love with a man named Ryle Kincaid. Over time, Lilly rekindles with an ex lover. Ryle begins to suspect she is cheating on him with this ex lover. After, Ryle begins to exert domestic violence towards Lilly. She soon realizes that she must leave.
Reason for selection: I chose this film, as it does not have an opening title sequence, but rather just jumps straight into the film. I think it would be a nice challenge for me to make a brand new opening title sequence for this movie from scratch with nothing to base it off of and have it be mine completely.
Why your services are needed: My services are needed on the opening title sequence of this film. This is because the movie directly jumps right in and doesn’t leave room for an opening title sequence. I think it would be cool to make one, as there was never an original made to go with the movie. The current title sequence lacks a title, as well as everything else it should have, as there isn’t one. There are a few things I believe need to be emphasized in an opening title sequence for this film. First of all, the title needs to be emphasized. Then, I want to use some imagery from the film in order to give the viewer a summarized idea of what the film is about.
