Graphic design focuses on different visual aspects to make things appealing to one’s eye. While there are many different types of designs such as visual, interior, exterior, etc, they all work with organizing different parts to create a more cohesive and structured design. Manipulating the design and its different aspects allows us to develop a design that is more appealing to a larger crowd. When creating designs, we should look at our designs through a different perspective so that we are more apt to engage others through our work.
Appealing to an audience depends on the designer working through all the aspects of their design. The use of space, size, color, capture the audience’s eyes, and quickly determine where they should focus their attention. The aspect of space plays a key role in graphic design; too much of it or too little of it could alter the understanding and complexity of the design. Therefore ensuring the designer has a good ratio of space and design allows for the audience to develop a better understanding of the designer’s intended message. Too little of a ratio between the space and the design could result in the viewer feeling overwhelmed by all that is in the design. Whereas too large of a ratio would result in an empty feeling.
