The two typefaces I looked at the most were Helvetica and Didot. Didot is a modern typeface. It was created in late 18th century France by the Didot family. Didot came from a popular style of typeface that was growing in popularity in the end of the 18th century. This new typeface had bigger contrast between thick and thins and unbracketed serifs. The other typeface I looked at was Helvetica. Helvetica is a sans serif typeface. A sans serif typeface is a typeface with no “feet”. Sans serifs did not really become popular till the 20th century. Helvetica is a clean design with condensed letters and that makes it very easily readable. Even though these two fonts have some different characteristics. They both are easy to read. Which makes them very common to see.
