Baskerville vs Didot Differences

From what I have read I chose to talk about the Baskerville and Didot. One pretty obvious difference between the two type faces is that Baskerville is a transitional which is a bridge between old typeface and modern typeface.  Didot is a modern typeface which means it is a new version any old style of a typeface. Another difference I found was that in the letter R for Baskerville the shoulder comes out a little wider and then goes down at an angle versus Didot the shoulder is a little more tighter and the line goes strait down instead of an angle.

Baskerville vs Didot similarities

They’re isn’t really that much similar about these two type faces but one thing that is similar is that they have the same thick parts in there letters and the same thin parts in there letters.

My Opinion

After looking at both these typefaces I probably like Baskerville more. I like both but Baskerville seems to have more flow and more authentic with their lettering. I also like Baskerville because of the increase in contrast between the thick and thins of the letters.
