I have never thought about what the font I was looking at when I would read something, I would just take it as just a word I could read. Every day we are out and about in the world around us grabbing groceries or looking at a menu in a restaurant. Helvetica is quite literally all around us and most people will never see it they will just think about it as another word and not think about what font it is at all.
Massimo Vignelli

“The life of a designer is a life of fight. Fight against the ugliness. Just like a doctor fight against the disease. For us, the visual disease is what we have around, and what we try to do is cure it somehow with design.”
It interesting how he looks at the world around us. He sees all imperfections around us like a disease. All he wants to do at the end of the day is to help the world become not one font all around him and give a design to the world he sees.

Michael C. Place

“For me, Helvetica is just this beautiful, timeless thing. And certain things shouldn’t be messed with, you know?”
Michael doesn’t think like a lot of other people in this film in the quote he thinks that this is just something that is been around forever. Why would you want to change something that is so iconic as Helvetica? I just think why try to change something that has been used for hundreds of years with no question.

Eric Spiekermann
“Most people who use Helvetica, use it because it’s ubiquitous. It’s like going to McDonald’s instead of thinking about food. Because it’s there, it’s on every street corner, so let’s eat crap because it’s on the corner.”
This quote just catches me by surprise but it makes sense. We every day make decisions and some of them are affected by our past. When you see how this looks all the time when you grow up so when you grow up you just end up picking something that you have seen forever.
