For this project I’m going to be rotoscoping/animating my own portion of a music video for the song “The Moon Cave” by the Gorillaz. I will be rotoscoping myself into said moon cave with a bunch of blue trippy effects filling my body.
I’m going to rotoscope four more arms coming out from me to resemble a Hindu god as the theme of the album is very much inspired by Indian music and folklore. The arms are going to act as the “singer” in the video where I will be lipsyncing the lyrics with my hands almost like puppets.
I also want to add a rotoscoped mouth somewhere (see thumbnails) to speak a certain line of the song. I also may be adding some vfx of a river flowing for another line and having me rotoscoped again playing a flute for some of the more flute heavy parts of the song.
The original music video has a lot of little characters that come out later in the song that will not be featured in this video as it’s only 30 seconds, but I wanted to incorporate one of those little guys with stop motion, frame by frame drawing for at least a small scene in my video.
Lots of ideas right now, I’ll just have to wait and see what I end up applying here.
