I found Emily’s presentation very interesting. I thought it was really cool how chaotic the paintings look at first glance. But how when you look closer everything came together to make something beautiful. I enjoyed listening to her visions with her sculpture designs and how dedicated she was to create her vision out of certain materials. From the Road sign presentation, I learned a lot. First, I learned about the standard roadway sign alphabet of the U.S. and the history of it. I never realized how popular this typeface is outside of the country. Traveling to see the typeface takes a lot of dedication and I found it very interesting how widespread and intriguing a single typeface could be. It was mentioned, but I never realized how much Randall actually liked this typeface until the presentation. It’s also inspiring how free your investigation is. Just winging it and just exploring all the places this typeface is.
